Happy Earth Day!

The theme for World Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs Plastics.

Plastics are used in many key safety and health areas. Yet the extent to which they are disposed of and let loose to settle in small toxic pieces in the environment is alarming. People will give estimates about how long it takes for plastic to decompose. The thing is, it doesn’t really go away, it just gets smaller. As it gets smaller, it can be very toxic to marine life.

Remember “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”? We tend to focus on the recycle part, but actually these three terms are in an important order. FIRST reduce your plastic use. Then, REUSE plastic where appropriate. Recycling is generally a good idea, but not as good an idea as the first two.
