Mexican Cultural Institute, DC

The Mexican Cultural Institute in DC is open again and the current exhibits (including Roots of Water) and the building are worth a visit. They are free and open weekdays 10-6 and Saturdays 12-4.

The building itself is amazing. I want the library. #goals

There are also some interesting musical elements. See if you can find them!

Be sure to check out the blue tile room.

Of particular note is the photography exhibit on display now, Roots of Water, with images of Quintana Roo, the main state of Mexico in which I and the Ocean World of Sound team conduct our research. This includes Cancun, but also lesser known locations.

This exhibit is on the ground floor. Head upstairs (and you want to anyway to see the building) and you can check out two more exhibits, Irene Zundel, exploring climate change, and Antonio Fink, Color and Movement.

A great way to get out of the heat and feel transported.
