Events Updates

It has been a full summer of exciting events and this autumn is starting to fill up. Here are a few highlights:

Heather Spence is expert at US Botanic Garden

In August, I served again as the Expert Is In at the U.S. Botanic Garden, introducing visitors to the connections between plants and sound, from the way plants absorb sounds in a room and change the acoustics, to how they produce high pitched sounds above our range of hearing when they are thirsty.

In August I was also pleased, through my role at the U.S. Department of Energy, to support the Advancing Energy Futures Through Art workshop, exploring how art and marine energy inform each other.

September 29th is the Outdoor Lab fall open house. These happen every fall and spring. Come say hi and check out this amazing space that is used as an outdoor education facility for Arlington Public Schools!

On October 6, I will be playing cello as part of an Egyptian music trio for a fundraising luncheon supporting a medical heart center in Cairo.

Stay tuned for more updates and hope to see you soon!
