Cello & Ocean Sounds

I had a great time playing for the Passages event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, amidst the ocean-themed art exhibit Sea Marks by Christina Lorena Weisner. I played three sets, with three different underwater soundscapes. The first was a recording I took in the Sound in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where Weisner is from. The second was a soundscape composition based on coral reef bleaching events in Quintana Roo Mexico. The third was reef soundscapes of the Maldives from a recent expedition, and the recordings were fresh – I had not listened to them yet! We were discovering the soundscape together, with the cello as our tour guide.
