World Ocean Day!
June 8 is World Ocean Day AND World Ocean Passive Acoustic Monitoring Day (WOPAM day). A time to reflect on our connection and reliance on the ocean, and also to do something about it. Ocean World of Sound is proud to be part of a global community recording underwater sounds on this day, to enable a comparison of sites across the world.
How will you be celebrating on June 8 this year? Here are some ideas:
- Start the 30 Day listening challenge by Ocean World of Sound
- Find a body of water and take some time to meditate near it
- Incorporate something ocean-related into your creative/professional practices
- Join a local World Ocean Day themed event
- Have a baby (That’s how I celebrated a couple years ago… my son now has his birthday on my busiest day of the year. Thanks buddy!)
