Soothing Womb Sounds for Baby

Science-based womb soundscape to soothe babies to sleep, designed by bioacoustics expert and PhD neuroscientist Heather Spence

Album Notes

Soothe your baby with sounds of the womb! Heartbeat, breathing, gurgling, filtered brown noise, and faint cello music. The womb is an aquatic environment surrounding your baby with a buffer of water, filtering out high frequency sounds, while transmitting internal sounds. For best results, use high quality speakers. Low frequency sounds predominate this soundtrack, and are not well reproduced by cellphone or laptop speakers.

This song is dedicated to colleague and friend Dr. Dana Bakalar, and her baby River, born March 2017, the first to hear it (and fall asleep).

Cello music original composition/performed by Heather Spence. Heartbeat sampled from Herbert Boland.
